Shehab Chosen to Serve as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs

ISE Director, Dr. Randa Shehab, has accepted a new position within the Gallogly College of Engineering. As of January 1, 2017, Dr. Shehab will become the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. This position will allow Dr. Shehab to focus on the undergraduate programs within the GCoE as well as student services including recruitment, outreach, and diversity efforts. Dr. Shehab has been with the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering since 1997. In 2006, she became interim director, and in 2008 became director. Trafalis Honored By International Neural Network Society

Congratulations to ISE’s own Dr. Ted Trafalis who was elected Senior Member of The International Neural Network Society. The International Neural Network Society (INNS) is the premiere professional society for researchers across the world who are working on neural networks and related areas such as big data, machine learning, computational neuroscience, neuroinformatics, and cognitive science. In order to be nominated for this honor, members must have demonstrated a significant contribution to the theory and/or applications and/or education and promotion of the subject discipline.
