Kang Elevated to IEEE Senior Member


Congratulations to Ziho Kang, an ISE associate professor, who has been elevated to the grade of IEEE senior member. The honor is bestowed only to those who have made significant contributions to the profession. IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity.

ISE Undergrads Given Campus Awards

Two undergraduate students in the OU School of ISE were recognized at the 2022 Campus Awards on April 8, 2022. Noah Bridges, ISE senior, was named the school's outstanding senior. ISE junior Aaron Reid received both the OU Campus Life Award and the Regents' Award for Outstanding Juniors.

OU ISE Faculty Member Janet Allen Recognized at Annual Celebration

ISE faculty member Janet Allen was among several GCoE faculty who received honors for their outstanding work during the 2021 OU Faculty Tribute. A John and Mary Moore Chair in the OU School of ISE, Allen was presented with the Vice President for Research and Partnerships Award for Excellence in Applied Research and Engineering. She is known for her work in decision-based design and formulating problems and modeling uncertainty.

An ISE Doctoral Student Given Dissertation Award for Spring 2022

An ISE doctoral student, Reza Alizadeh, was among 10 students from the OU Gallogly College of Engineering selected to receive this semester’s Dissertation Excellence Award, a $5,000 award created to encourage doctoral students to graduate with excellence.

Alizadeh will defend his dissertation entitled “Managing Computational Complexity Through Using Partitioning, Approximation, and Coordination” in the summer of 2022.

Gift Brings OU ISE Into New Era

A $4.4 million gift to the University of Oklahoma Foundation has the capacity to transform OU’s School of Industrial and Systems Engineering.

Charles Jones, a 1969 ISE alumnus from OU’s Gallogly College of Engineering, has committed $2.2 million to establish the Charles R. Jones Endowed Chair in Data Science and Analytics and $2 million to the new Madelaine Pfau Endowed Chair in Enterprise Leadership for Industrial and Systems Engineering.
